Gutter guard is one of those purchases you make once and then forget about, which is exactly why the details matter. At Leaf Free Gutter Guard, we design and manufacture our mesh in Australia for Australian roofs, and the specification reflects that.
A 2mm aperture stops leaves, twigs and gumnuts while letting heavy rain through. Our 316 stainless steel and poly coated aluminium meshes are designed to meet BAL-40, the rating that applies in high bushfire-risk areas. Widths come in 250mm, 500mm and 1000mm, with supplementary tapes available where a job needs them.
Bonded, Not Screwed
Most gutter guard on the market is fixed with screws driven through the roof sheet. We use 3M VHB adhesive tape instead.
That difference matters more than it sounds. Every screw is a hole in a roof that was previously watertight, and every hole is a future maintenance item. A bonded fix spreads the hold along the full length of the mesh rather than concentrating it at points, and it leaves the roof sheet intact.
3M VHB is used in manufacturing worldwide for exactly this reason. On a properly prepared, clean and dry surface, it holds.
